'Access Hollywood' News Correspondent Liz Hernandez to Emcee 2016 NAB Education Foundation Celebration of Service to America Awards

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Television personality and journalist Liz Hernandez will serve as master of ceremonies for the NAB Education Foundation’s (NABEF) 2016 Celebration of Service to America Awards, which recognize outstanding community service initiatives by local broadcasters. This year’s event will be held Tuesday, June 21 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.

In 2014, Hernandez joined NBC’s “Access Hollywood” as a news correspondent. “Access Hollywood,” now in its 20th season, is a nationally syndicated daily entertainment news show. She is one of the program’s first Latina correspondents.

Prior to joining “Access Hollywood,” Hernandez served as a long-time co-host of the number one rated and nationally syndicated morning show “Big Boy’s Neighborhood” on Los Angeles’ Power 106 FM. She has been recognized by the National Hispanic Media Coalition for excellence in radio broadcasting.

Hernandez first made the transition from radio to television in 2007, when she began working as a correspondent for MTV News. She also served as on-air talent for MTVTres before joining E! News in 2011 as a correspondent and host of “E! News Now.” In addition to her correspondent work, Hernandez has appeared in numerous television shows, including HBO’s “Entourage.”

This years’ Service to America award winners are listed here. As previously announced, Southwest Airlines will receive the Corporate Leadership Award.
