The Technology Apprenticeship Program is a six month, paid educational hands-on training program designed to train, inform and recruit a diverse technology workforce. This program bridges the gap between emerging technology and engineering needs within the broadcast community.
The fellowships for the students in this program are supported by generous program sponsors and donors who care about building a diverse and ready workforce.
The Foundation depends on support from broadcasters, corporations, foundations and individuals to help us build a bright, diverse and innovative future for the broadcast industry. Our industry’s future depends on great people: let’s connect and build that future together.
“I want to thank the NAB Leadership Foundation for the investment you made in my life. The other day, I helped my dad install a fan in our transmitter when we were at low power. We fired it up and it ran beautifully. You got me involved in that part of radio. I learned a lot from each of your personalities, your professionalism and your hard work, and I enjoyed every conversation I had with each of you.
A person's journey consists of caring people contributing to the whole of that person. Thank you for the time, work, opportunities, insights, encouragement, presentations and care you gave. I loved every minute being a part of the program! Thank you for the vision you had for me, my brother and everyone else you've helped through your work.”
“I want to thank the NAB Leadership Foundation team and program mates for such an awesome opportunity to work with you and NBC4. Broadcasting is a new field for me, and I enjoyed my experience and everything I’ve learned. I am proud to be pursuing a new career in broadcasting.”
“By participating in the Technology Apprenticeship Program, I was exposed to the current technology and technology advancements that are available in the broadcasting industry. This program helped me realize what I wanted to do with my career and how I can be a participant in the future of broadcasting. I didn’t realize how much technology is involved in radio and television until I was a part of this program. My summer apprenticeship really gave me the hands-on experience I need and helped me decide what I wanted to do for my career. I use the skills I learned during this program just about every day at my current job.”
